I noticed a lot of bloggers talking about the naughty stuffs they do when they are in secondary school. Be it tags/meme or not. It just got me thinking about my secondary school days. There are a lot that I did and I would share a few which I think is quite memorable. I will share out more in the future.
CASE 1
Although it is not very frequent, this was done in my early part of lower six and the latter part of form five. The assembly is always at 7.20am and late comers will have their name jotted down which requires them to clean up the school, pick leaves or some other form of punishment during recess time. This will always mean having to buy leftovers and shorter time to eat during recess. If you got your name in the book for three times, you will have to go for detention after school.
Somehow, I always manage to get myself late to school (That is until my mother decided to send me to school during the later part of Lower 6 (TO only)). There were a few times which I was late with one of my friend and a few times I was late alone. I do not know whether anyone do this but due to my years of Scouting, I thought of this myself. This is what I do, I will go through the other side of the church, climbed over the wall beside the science lab, go through the back of the school where the Scout Room is, go through the canteen, past the toilet and to the St. John's room where it is right smack beside the office facing the assembly. I will then pretend that I am at the St. John's room all along. Form five was way easier, most of my friends are either prefects or librarians (even the head prefect is my buddy and also the same class as I am). If I am lazy to do the above, I will just come late into the class and ask for free latecomer's slip to be shown to the teacher. Some days, I just turn myself in and just face the punishments. Hahaha.
CASE 2
I am sure most of you know what hide and seek is but how many of you have played hide and seek with the principal before? This is exactly what happened to me. I forgot whether this happens in form 5, lower 6 or upper 6. The story goes this way. It was always the 'cool' thing at school to have long hair or long fingernails without being caught. Well, I did both. The day before playing hide and seek with my principal, I was warned by him to get my hair cut or faced having my hair cut by him (For RM 5 you get a haircut from the principal. I got my hair cut by him numerous times. FYI, his hair cutting skills are not bad, hahaha.).
Well, I totally ignored him as most of the time, he forgot to check on me but sometimes, he remembered. It was on that day that I forgot i was a wanted man. I was walking to the toilet and I saw him from afar. Hoping that he did not notice me, I turned back but he saw me and chased after me. I turned to the other block and went up the stairs but he was still chasing me, then I went down another stairs and to walked towards the science labs and into one of them where a teacher was at the utensils storage room of the lab. I thought I lost him but I stayed in the lab for awhile. I was wrong, a few moments later, he managed to find me and I kena kaw-kaw from him. He asked me why I ran when I saw him but I lied to him saying that I was looking for a teacher and I did not see him. I do not know whether he believed me but he let me off. Then he proceeded to ask me about my hair. I told him I forgot and I will cut it after school. Again, he let me off. I guess that he is either in a good mood or just too busy to cut my hair. Hahaha.
CASE 3
This is one of the most memorable ones. For most people, form 5 marks the last year in secondary school. Most of the gang in my class likes to play and we especially like PE class to play football. Most of the time, if the teacher for the next class is away or on MC, we will request for extra PE period from the replacement teacher. Most of the time, we got what we wanted. There was this once where we did not get our wish granted by the replacement teacher. Half of us totally ignored her and continued playing football. That's when she got angry and reported it to the principal. Hahaha. So, what do we get in return? Half of the class, including the Head Prefect (surely I got it too) got whacked at the butt by the principal. Hahaha.
CASE 4
I can definitely remember when this happened. This happened when I was in form 4. In the middle part of the year, we have our favorite history teacher replaced by a new teacher. The first few times she was in the class, she acted very proud and so most of us doesn't like her. Then, there was this one day where we had a face off with her. She was teaching in front of the class while most of us does not listed to her at all. We chatted away and did our own stuffs (Some of them even sang in the class). Well, she got angry and scolded us. Then she just threatened us that if we do not like to pay attention to what she teach, she can just sit there and do nothing and we can do our own things. She then proceeded to to sit in front of the class and we just kept quiet and stared at each other. Then when the bell rang to mark the end of the period, she walked out of the class. Just as she was walking down the stairs. We clapped and cheered while making lots of noise.
I think that hurt the teacher a bit. We felt very bad after that and our form teacher advised us to apologise to that teacher. The class monitor together with the a few of us went to the teacher to apologise. I heard from the monitor that the teacher was crying when they went to apologise. But as fate had it, our relationship turned better and we can even joke around with her in the class after that.
CASE 5
Okay, this one happens especially rampant in the first few months of Lower 6 and occasionally in form 4. For my SPM, I was in the Science Stream but changed to Arts for form 6. Being a boys' school, we only have girls in the class for form 6. Since Arts are not very popular and there are 3 Arts classes, there are about 12 girls and 4 guys in my class although for some periods, we combined the classes. For the whole Arts class, there are only about less than 50 of us and the girls outnumbered us 4 to 1 and most of them are from the Arts stream.
Well, that's not my point here. My point here is that, being an ex-science stream guys in an Arts Stream class, a bunch of us do not understand what is going on in the class. We took five subjects including General Studies, Accounting, Economics, Maths S(Statistics) and MUET (English). This doesn't happen in MUET or General Studies class as I love both subjects. The most rampant classes that it happened is the Economics and Maths S class and occasionally on the Accounting (This is the hardest subject for us and we cannot do our own reading) class.
The thing that I want to say about 'this' is SLEEPING. For most of the 2 periods and especially true if the class is in the morning or after recess. Most of the time. the girls will be listening attentively in front of the class while a group of us guys will be sleeping at the back of the class and I am almost always the first one to fall asleep. The teacher just gave up on us and continued teaching after unseccessfully trying to change us for a few times. The class was just too boring.
Luckily, we are not the 'good-for-nothing' type and we picked ourselves up and worked hard not to sleep in the class and to follow the lessons. It still happened quite rarely after that but for Upper 6, it doesn't happen at all. Especially so when my class combined with my current gf's class. Hahaha.
CASE 6
Our school encouraged us to read and for each schooling week, we are supposed to spend one hour in the library and read one BM and one English book and write a report about the book (the report must be at least 3 pages long). In addition to that, we need to also find 20 new words (together with meaning and come out with a sentence with that word). From form 1 to form 3, what we used to do was to write our words real BIG so that we can finish it asap. For the 'New Words' we would just flip open the gloassary from any books and copy from there (later on, we just flip open the dictionay and copied any random words).
Later on (sometimes la) (form 4-5), if any of our friends are on duty, we will just ask them to chop the appropriate spaces in our book and we will be off. We will then fill it in with reports borrowed from friends from other classes. There were times where we totally did not pass it up.
CASE 7
This is not very serious but it's still a bit naughty on my part. It happened only at the first few months of Lower 6. Every morning after the first 2 periods, I will sneak off to the canteen to buy food. Sometimes even buying for my classmate. Then from form 1 to form 5, a few of us even brought those 50 cents mirror (we are lazy to go to the toilet as there's the only place with mirror in the school) to school from time to time although we are not allowed to.
There you go. A few of those memorable naughty moments of my schooling years. Aiz, those were the days. I was naughty but never bad. I did not even skipped school once. Share more later.
