Why oh Why?

It has been quite some time since I wrote a poem. I have written this one piece just now and it took me about 20 minutes to come out with this. Tell me how bad it is. Hahaha.

Why oh Why? by andylkw

Today is Friday
The sky is blue
The weather is nice
and Oh so cool

Why am I awake?
and why am I here?
Working, toiling
and hungry too

My eyes are missing my bed
My stomach is calling for food
My heart is missing my gf
and I want to blog too
Just why am I awake?
and why am I here?

Oh, I know!!!
If I don't work and if I don't toil
There will be no falling asleep
and no food for the stomach too
My gf will be worried
and blogging will not be good
That's why I am awake
and that's why I am here

Working, Toiling,
I can't help but wait
For today is the 24th
and when the clock strike 12am
it marks PAYDAY
and automatically, the money is in the bank
No cheque, no wait and no hassle
The weekend is coming
and on Sunday, I will meet my love
That's why I am awake
and that's why I am here

Now that I know,
It's back to work
lest I get a nice flowery letter
and get fired too
but before I go
here's a wish for everybody
'HAPPY WEEKNEND'
and there I go

Naughty, naughty

I noticed a lot of bloggers talking about the naughty stuffs they do when they are in secondary school. Be it tags/meme or not. It just got me thinking about my secondary school days. There are a lot that I did and I would share a few which I think is quite memorable. I will share out more in the future.

CASE 1
Although it is not very frequent, this was done in my early part of lower six and the latter part of form five. The assembly is always at 7.20am and late comers will have their name jotted down which requires them to clean up the school, pick leaves or some other form of punishment during recess time. This will always mean having to buy leftovers and shorter time to eat during recess. If you got your name in the book for three times, you will have to go for detention after school.

Somehow, I always manage to get myself late to school (That is until my mother decided to send me to school during the later part of Lower 6 (TO only)). There were a few times which I was late with one of my friend and a few times I was late alone. I do not know whether anyone do this but due to my years of Scouting, I thought of this myself. This is what I do, I will go through the other side of the church, climbed over the wall beside the science lab, go through the back of the school where the Scout Room is, go through the canteen, past the toilet and to the St. John's room where it is right smack beside the office facing the assembly. I will then pretend that I am at the St. John's room all along. Form five was way easier, most of my friends are either prefects or librarians (even the head prefect is my buddy and also the same class as I am). If I am lazy to do the above, I will just come late into the class and ask for free latecomer's slip to be shown to the teacher. Some days, I just turn myself in and just face the punishments. Hahaha.

CASE 2
I am sure most of you know what hide and seek is but how many of you have played hide and seek with the principal before? This is exactly what happened to me. I forgot whether this happens in form 5, lower 6 or upper 6. The story goes this way. It was always the 'cool' thing at school to have long hair or long fingernails without being caught. Well, I did both. The day before playing hide and seek with my principal, I was warned by him to get my hair cut or faced having my hair cut by him (For RM 5 you get a haircut from the principal. I got my hair cut by him numerous times. FYI, his hair cutting skills are not bad, hahaha.).

Well, I totally ignored him as most of the time, he forgot to check on me but sometimes, he remembered. It was on that day that I forgot i was a wanted man. I was walking to the toilet and I saw him from afar. Hoping that he did not notice me, I turned back but he saw me and chased after me. I turned to the other block and went up the stairs but he was still chasing me, then I went down another stairs and to walked towards the science labs and into one of them where a teacher was at the utensils storage room of the lab. I thought I lost him but I stayed in the lab for awhile. I was wrong, a few moments later, he managed to find me and I kena kaw-kaw from him. He asked me why I ran when I saw him but I lied to him saying that I was looking for a teacher and I did not see him. I do not know whether he believed me but he let me off. Then he proceeded to ask me about my hair. I told him I forgot and I will cut it after school. Again, he let me off. I guess that he is either in a good mood or just too busy to cut my hair. Hahaha.

CASE 3
This is one of the most memorable ones. For most people, form 5 marks the last year in secondary school. Most of the gang in my class likes to play and we especially like PE class to play football. Most of the time, if the teacher for the next class is away or on MC, we will request for extra PE period from the replacement teacher. Most of the time, we got what we wanted. There was this once where we did not get our wish granted by the replacement teacher. Half of us totally ignored her and continued playing football. That's when she got angry and reported it to the principal. Hahaha. So, what do we get in return? Half of the class, including the Head Prefect (surely I got it too) got whacked at the butt by the principal. Hahaha.

CASE 4
I can definitely remember when this happened. This happened when I was in form 4. In the middle part of the year, we have our favorite history teacher replaced by a new teacher. The first few times she was in the class, she acted very proud and so most of us doesn't like her. Then, there was this one day where we had a face off with her. She was teaching in front of the class while most of us does not listed to her at all. We chatted away and did our own stuffs (Some of them even sang in the class). Well, she got angry and scolded us. Then she just threatened us that if we do not like to pay attention to what she teach, she can just sit there and do nothing and we can do our own things. She then proceeded to to sit in front of the class and we just kept quiet and stared at each other. Then when the bell rang to mark the end of the period, she walked out of the class. Just as she was walking down the stairs. We clapped and cheered while making lots of noise.

I think that hurt the teacher a bit. We felt very bad after that and our form teacher advised us to apologise to that teacher. The class monitor together with the a few of us went to the teacher to apologise. I heard from the monitor that the teacher was crying when they went to apologise. But as fate had it, our relationship turned better and we can even joke around with her in the class after that.

CASE 5
Okay, this one happens especially rampant in the first few months of Lower 6 and occasionally in form 4. For my SPM, I was in the Science Stream but changed to Arts for form 6. Being a boys' school, we only have girls in the class for form 6. Since Arts are not very popular and there are 3 Arts classes, there are about 12 girls and 4 guys in my class although for some periods, we combined the classes. For the whole Arts class, there are only about less than 50 of us and the girls outnumbered us 4 to 1 and most of them are from the Arts stream.
Well, that's not my point here. My point here is that, being an ex-science stream guys in an Arts Stream class, a bunch of us do not understand what is going on in the class. We took five subjects including General Studies, Accounting, Economics, Maths S(Statistics) and MUET (English). This doesn't happen in MUET or General Studies class as I love both subjects. The most rampant classes that it happened is the Economics and Maths S class and occasionally on the Accounting (This is the hardest subject for us and we cannot do our own reading) class.
The thing that I want to say about 'this' is SLEEPING. For most of the 2 periods and especially true if the class is in the morning or after recess. Most of the time. the girls will be listening attentively in front of the class while a group of us guys will be sleeping at the back of the class and I am almost always the first one to fall asleep. The teacher just gave up on us and continued teaching after unseccessfully trying to change us for a few times. The class was just too boring.
Luckily, we are not the 'good-for-nothing' type and we picked ourselves up and worked hard not to sleep in the class and to follow the lessons. It still happened quite rarely after that but for Upper 6, it doesn't happen at all. Especially so when my class combined with my current gf's class. Hahaha.
CASE 6
Our school encouraged us to read and for each schooling week, we are supposed to spend one hour in the library and read one BM and one English book and write a report about the book (the report must be at least 3 pages long). In addition to that, we need to also find 20 new words (together with meaning and come out with a sentence with that word). From form 1 to form 3, what we used to do was to write our words real BIG so that we can finish it asap. For the 'New Words' we would just flip open the gloassary from any books and copy from there (later on, we just flip open the dictionay and copied any random words).

Later on (sometimes la) (form 4-5), if any of our friends are on duty, we will just ask them to chop the appropriate spaces in our book and we will be off. We will then fill it in with reports borrowed from friends from other classes. There were times where we totally did not pass it up.

CASE 7
This is not very serious but it's still a bit naughty on my part. It happened only at the first few months of Lower 6. Every morning after the first 2 periods, I will sneak off to the canteen to buy food. Sometimes even buying for my classmate. Then from form 1 to form 5, a few of us even brought those 50 cents mirror (we are lazy to go to the toilet as there's the only place with mirror in the school) to school from time to time although we are not allowed to.

There you go. A few of those memorable naughty moments of my schooling years. Aiz, those were the days. I was naughty but never bad. I did not even skipped school once. Share more later.

Watched it at Mid Valley

It has been quite some time since I watch a late night movie with my gf. I think that it has been about one month plus. So, on Saturday evening, I bought 2 tickets for a midnite movie.
My choice at that time was, Rush Hour 3, Ratatouille and Secret. Finally, I have decided to buy this:

Yeah, I have finally watched 'Secret'. All I can say about this movie is that my gf and I enjoyed it from the beginning till the end. Great directional debut and acting from Jay Chou. I like the piano battle part of the movie and also how the love between the 2 main characters are so sweet. I do recommend you guys to watch it.
It is definitely worth giving up Rush Hour 3 and Ratatouille for. Too bad, there wasn't too many people who think like me. The cinema was quite empty. I think that there might be 2 reasons for this. One being Rush Hour 3 and the second is because it is the 7th month of the Chinese Calender which is also known as the 'Hungry Ghost Month'.

Paranoid Mode

Just a short one. I have been using AVG Anti-Spyware for quite some time. Never bothered to look at its other features until today. When I go to the "Tools >> Shredder" I saw this:

Wahaha, "Paranoid Mode". I think I will start using this instead of the "recycle bin" or using "Shift + Delete". Wahaha.

A Better Tomorrow

As you all know, my gf and I went to Low Yatt Plaza and Sungei Wang last Sunday. At first, we did not buy anything but when we passed by Baleno just moments before going home, we saw something that we liked and spent about RM 150 there. Without wasting time, I'll tell the stories with the pictures below:

This is the plastic bag for the stuffs that we bought. It is a collaborative work between Coca Cola and Play Imaginative for their new series of Trexi Toys themed "A Better Tomorrow". Their Extended merchandise partners include Baleno, Oregon Scientific and O.D.M. As a Coca Cola fan, how can I miss it? More infos here. The whole project is about this.

This is the collared T-Shirt which my gf bought for me. You can see that on the sleeve it is written "A Better Tomorow" which is the theme of the whole project.

The trexi design on my collared T-Shirt called "Face to Face" by an invited artist called Jiji from China.

The main reason I chosed this collared T-Shirt is because of this design at the back. The collared T-Shirt costs RM59.

This is the T-Shirt I bought for my gf. You can also see that on the sleeve it is written "A Better Tomorow".

The trexi design called "Coke Float" by an invited artist called Bloo Empire from the US of A.

This is the back design of the T-Shirt. The T-Shirt is RM 49.

Both the collared T-Shirt and the T-Shirt. Both are 'S' size. see the difference?

And now, the main attraction for us to buy the T-shirts although we buy the T-Shirts because we do not have any Coca Cola T-Shirts and the designs are quite nice. The trexi toys itself. We were told that they only ordered 1000 for Malaysia. It is so rare that they were ordered not to let customers to open the box any choose the figurines. We are only allowed to choose the boxes. This is the front of the box.

This is part of the trexi toys designs at the side of the box.

More of them at the other side of the box. The one with '?' is the special edition one.

I am lucky to get this one. I fell in love with this one the moment I saw it. It is called 'Share Fun' by one of the 15 winners called Jackey Woo from Hong Kong.

The back of the trexi toy.

The bottom of the trexi toy with the Coca Cola logo and the trexi logo.

This is actually the first one I opened. Never expected that I will get this one. We were told that we are lucky to get this one as it is the special edition one with the '?' at the side of the box. This one is called the 'Happinkness' by one of the 10 invited artists called Niark from France. Am I lucky or what? Special Edition wor. Hahaha.

This is the back of the Happinkness. It's quite special la. Hahaha. Suitable for my pink blog. Hehehe. If you buy the trexi toys only, it will be RM 29.90 but if you buy the T-Shirts, you can get it at RM 19.90 based on how many T-Shirts you buy. My gf bought both the toys for me. Just as an extra info, there are 25 designs where 15 are from the winners and 10 are from invited artists. To look at all the designs, click here. We were also told that there are some Coca Cola enthusiasts willing to fork out RM 700++ to buy one whole box of 25 of the trexi toys although there are chances that they will get double. Anyone willing to give/sell me your double toys?

With this I end my post. Let's hope for "A Better Tomorrow" for everyone.

Oh, before I end my post, this is the Doraemon DVD-R I bought at Low Yatt Plaza for RM 14 for 10 including the case. Have a nice day. Damn long post...

Silly Me

Okay, my the swelling on my foot has receded a lot although it is still a little swollen and a little painful but I can drive already. So, I went to Low Yatt Plaza and Sungei Wang with my gf yesterday. Something funny happened and I want to share it out. Usually, if we go to that area, we will park at Berjaya Times Square(BTS) as the parking rate is lower than Low Yatt and Sungei Wang. Usually, when we go to BTS, we will make a U-turn from Jalan Imbi but alas, the road was closed at the crossroad outside De Vegas Club, so, I have to turn right and go to the backlane of Sungei Wang (the Giant exit facing Imbi Plaza).

I definitely do not want to park at Sungei Wang, so I thought of parking in Imbi Plaza but when I looked at the parking rates, I decided against it. So I went straight to Amoda hotel. My gf saw the weekdays parking rates (RM 4 first hour, RM something subsequent hour etc. etc., in short, expensive) but I have already taken the parking ticket so I went in to the basement car park there.

As I went lower and lower, I felt that the place looked very dark and eerie, so I told my gf that I do not want to park in Amoda and just pay the RM 4 charges and park at Low Yatt Plaza. When we paid for the ticket, it was RM 6 instead of RM 4. We were puzzled and so we looked at the parking rates again and found out that they charge a flat rate of RM 6 for Sundays and Public Holidays (Silly Me 1).

So, we drove to Low Yatt Plaza to park our cars and as I went in to the basement car park, again I felt that it was very dark and eerie. I thought to myself that it can't be happening so I looked around me and then I realised the source of the feeling. Wahaha. Can you guess it? Hahaha, I forgot to remove my sunglasses when I went into the basement car park. That's why it is so dark and eerie (Silly Me 2).

We hang around Low Yatt and Sungei Wang from around 12.30pm to 6.30pm (6 hours) and so we went to pay for our parking. Do you know how much it costs? A whopping RM11 (RM 2 first hour, RM 2 Second hour, RM 1.50 for third and fourth hour and Rm 2 for any fifth hours and above). This is really a killer. I could have just gone back into Amoda Hotel and pay RM 6 or make a big turn to park in BTS (RM 6 or 7 max, I forgot). I could have saved RM 5. I am never going to park in Low Yatt plaza anymore. There you go Silly me 3. Wahaha. Anyway, for my shopping in 2 weeks due to my leg, I enjoyed myself. Lol.

4 days

Nothing much to update. Went to HUKM today. Luckily not being jabbed. Unluckily, this is the third doctor who suspect that it's gout and there are signs of infections which caused my foot to be more swollen and redder. Luckily, I am also told that if I'm lucky, it won't strike again if I watch my diet and exercise more. Unluckily, there's a lot of food that I must take in moderation. Luckily, I got 4 days MC from a government hostpital which means that I can rest till the end of the week and start work on Monday. Unluckily, I can't do anything or go anywhere although I have such a long holiday. End of story.

4 days = 4 jabs

Wednesday 1 August 2007
little bit pain on the left foot in the afternoon. Big toe swollen at night. Very painful, hard to fall asleep.

Thursday 2 August 2007
Did not go to work in the morning but went to see the doctor with my mother and grandma. Got jabbed on the right side of my butt and given one type of medicine to reduce swelling. Costs me RM45. Got MC but worked half day.

Friday 3 August 2007
The swelling has become smaller in the morning so I went to work as usual. Went home after work. My grandma came to visit at night and I even sent her home in my CLK. At around 10.30pm the swelling has become worse. Very red, very hot and very big. Can't even walk and move my leg. Jolting pain even if it is not touched. Can't even walk. My parents and my sister sent me to another 24 hours clinic. Got a jab on the left side of my butt. Given 3 types of medicine and costs me RM 55. The doctor suspects it to be GOUT(Mainly caused by uric acid) as it runs in my family.

Saturday 4 August 2007
Grandma came to visit in the morning. At 10 something, my parents and me went to BP lab. after sending my grandma home. Got a jab on my right hand to draw blood for the blood test. Was told to get the results on Sunday. The doctor and nurses there are very helpful and friendly. The blood, ECG and ultrasound tests costs me RM 215 while the 3 types of medicines I got costs me RM 15. Things got worse in the afternoon. My whole foot got ballooned up. My foot and all my toes all got swollen. Got a bit better at around midnight.

Sunday 5 August 2007
The swelling has receded a bit. Went to get my result at BP lab with my mother. Everything was okay except that my uric acid count is at the borderline. Was told that the swelling is caused by inflammation due to the high level of uric acid in my blood but still suspected to be having GOUT. Was told that I am not immune to Hepatitis A and B anymore. My mother suggested me to get a jab and so I got a jab on my right arm for the Hepatitis A and B immunity. The double Hepatitis immunity jab costs me RM120. Spent so much in just 4 days. Will be jabbed again in one month and another time in 7 months. My gf came to look after me in the afternoon. My foot is better than yesterday but still worse than Thursday. My foot and toes has become swollen again in the afternoon. So painful that I can't even drive but since I do not have MC, I still need to go to work on the next day. There goes my weekend.

The story of my foot

Here’s an update of what happened to me yesterday.

Actually, the pain started at around 3-4 pm when I was in the office on the 1st of August but then, it was not very painful. At around 5 something to 6, the pain was getting worse. I was having a hard time stepping on the clutch.

I visit my grandma after work and went home at around 8.30 pm. By then, the pain is already getting very annoying. After dinner, I went back to my room to chat, read blogs and to play PC games (Tortuga: Two treasures). At around 10 something, it got real bad that I can no longer walk normally. I had to walk with a limp and also using the little finger side of my foot. I thought nothing of it and keep on playing the PC game.

At around 12 something, I can’t stand the pain anymore, I called my gf to tell her about it and then I went to bed, hoping that the pain will be gone in the morning. By that time, my foot is already quite hot and the swollen area was already quite big. I was on the bed but I can’t sleep. It’s just getting worse by the hours. The pain was too much that I can’t even get a bit of sleep.

At around 2 something, it’s so bad that I felt excruciating pain with every pump of my blood. It’s like the flowing blood is causing me more pain. I had to tie my foot to prevent too much blood from flowing. It was only a temporary relieve as the pain came back after a while.

At about 3 something, I thought of using ‘ice pack’. So, I need to go downstairs where the fridge is. It was then that I realized that I couldn’t even walk with both feet. Not even using the little finger side of my foot anymore. I had to hop around using one leg. The ice pack doesn’t help.

What I did after that was to rest my leg on one of my many soft toys so that the blood does not flow too much to that area It’s so painful that I prayed hard to GOD to relieve me of the pain so that I can catch some sleep and not long after that, I managed to sleep at around 4 something.

I woke up in the morning and I only managed to sleep for about 3 hours, as my foot is too painful. I woke up at about 7.40am and I realized that the pain was worse. I can’t even hop around anymore. Before I went to bed, at least it’s not as painful (still bearable) when I did not move my leg. But now, it’s painful even when my foot is at rest.

Anyway, I still decided to go to the office as I have already taken MC on Monday. I can’t afford too many MCs since I am still on probation. Aside from the toilet stuffs, I managed to put on my clothes and feed my hamsters before proceeding to the painful task of walking downstairs. As I was walking downstairs, I saw my grandma (she stays nearby) in the dining room and my mother in the kitchen.

My grandma saw me having difficulties in walking, was concerned and asked me about it. I tried to put on a ‘not very pain’ look and told her it was nothing but she saw through me but I reassured her that I was okay. Then, I ‘walked’ (as my grandma was looking) into the kitchen to talk to my mother (with one foot in the air). Just as I was about to walk out of the kitchen, I touched my foot to the floor, it’s damn painful that I nearly fell down and I think I yelled out quite loudly.

By then, my grandma and mother were in shock and they quickly warned me not to go to the office. I told them I need to pass up some work and so, my mother said that I need to see a doctor before I can go anywhere. As the clinic only opens at 9am, I had to wait in the dining table. I chat with my grandma and called my colleagues to notify my supervisor that I will be late to work.

By 9.15, I had to ‘walk’ to my mother’s car with one hand holding an umbrella (lol) and another hand on my mother’s shoulder. Yes, it is that painful. The swelling has gone quite big at that time. I went to the clinic with my mother and grandma. At the clinic, while waiting for the doctor, my mother asked me to remove my slipper as she wants to take a look. When the doctor called for me, my mother tried to help me to put on my slipper but she accidentally touched my ‘lump’. I let yelled out in pain and nearly cried.

After the doctor examined me, he told us that I needed a jab on my butt. I was so scared of being jabbed that I started shouting even the doctor even began jabbing me with it. I know it’s a bit embarrassing (especially with my mother and grandma around) but I can’t help it. I shouted in pain before, during and after being jabbed. (haha).

I was given an MC and one type of medicine to reduce the swelling and my mother paid for the RM45 bill. Before leaving, my mother asked whether I can drive to work and I was told that I could drive if it is not so painful after an hour. With that, I went home with the pain on my foot and the pain on my butt.

When I reached home, it is already 9.45am. I had my breakfast and my medicine while watching Astro on demand and with my grandma accompanying me. My mother was at work. By 10.45, the pain subsided a lot but I still need to limp and walk on the little finger side of my foot. I called my mother to notify her that I am feeling better and am going to work and then I drove my grandma home.

When I reached the car park of the office, it is already 11 something. I called my gf to tell her about my foot and proceeded to walk to the elevator leading to my office. At the office, I had a discussion with my supervisor about my MC and she said that since I can’t work and even though I am on MC on Monday, I can go home as she said that if I cannot work, there is nothing that can be done but I had to make sure that I do not take MC too often in the future.

I told my supervisor that I would finish up some work before leaving. During lunch, one of my colleagues helped me to buy lunch and I wanted to thank her for that. I went home at around 3pm to catch up on my sleep. Before that, I called my gf and grandma to tell them that I am going home. My grandma came for a visit at around 7 something and I woke up at around that time. At around 11, my gf called me again to ask me about my foot. I had a good sleep yesterday night.

Today, I felt much better but my foot is still swollen. I would like to take this opportunities to thank everyone for their concerns especially (in no particular order) my gf, my mother, my grandma, my friends and my colleagues.

So painful, HELP ME!!!

I can't believe it. Just feeling better after my diarrhea and stomach pain, I was thinking that I can finally be fit and pain-free again. Fate must have it that I am relieved from one pain but I got another. Haiz. What happened to me now? Take a look at the pictures:

Yeah, It's my left feet. Ouch! It's swollen for no good reason. I did not knock on anything. I definitely did not sprain myself. The pain just came yesterday afternoon but I ignored it. By 5 something, walking is already starting to be very hard and by 6.30, I feel damn painful when I step on the clutch. Such a damn small lump but i tell you, the pain is unbearable.

At first, I thought nothing of it but by now, it has become bigger, the area has become very red, my feet is damn hot and it is so painful even when I am not walking (resting my leg lah). Worse still, because I have MC on Monday, I felt bad about being on MC anymore, so, I'm going to work also. Now, I'm so painful. So painful that even walking needs a lot of effort. I feel like crying and yelping with every step that I take. Can anyone help me? Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
