Russell Lee @ KLCC Book Fair 2008
Last Sunday, my gf and me went to KLCC for the Book Fair which is being held there. Since my mother has already told me that she will be there also, I met my parents with my sister and cousin a while after I arrived. As there are a lot of people, we did not walk together but walk around separately instead.
There are a lot of people there. So many people there that it is so hard to walk around. We bought some book and my gf bought me the "True Singapore Ghost Stories Volume 6" which I left out from my collection. A while after that, I met thiamhin and his gf. It has been 1 year plus since I last met them.
If I remember correctly, the last time I met them was while we attended a uni mate's wedding. Both of them looked so different from the last time I met them. His gf which is also my coursemate, sported a new hairstyle (at least new to me la) and thiamhin looked bulkier (hehe...). Through thiamhin, I got to know that Mr. Russell Lee will be there to sign some books and I decided to get the copy which my gf bought me to be signed. It's very rarely for me to meet one of my favorite author. What more, I have been reading the "True Singapore Ghost Stories" since I was 14.
Back then, I does not have too much money and have to resort to borrowing from friends which has them. So, now when I can afford them, I will collect all of them. At around the alllcated time, my gf and I headed to meet Mr. Russell Lee in person with his trademark hat, mask and gloves. So many years and yet his identity is still a mystery. I am really happy and excited to meet him in person.
He is a bit different from what I imagined. He is such a friendly and nice person. He really took the effort to connect with all his fans. Chatting with them and getting to know them.

The photo above was taken while I was waiting for my turn for my book to be signed by him. When it was my turn, he asked me how I am and so my reply was that I am fine and I asked him back how is he. His answer was "Very HOt". Hahaha.
Then he saw my gf snapping pictures of me with him and asked me whether she is my gf. I answered yes and he proceeded to ask me whether I am planning to marry her or not. To that, my answer was "Hopefully". Heheh. He asked for my girlfriend's name and then proceeded to write his message on my book. The photo below is what he wrote for me. Did you notice how he underline the "good".
After signing the book, he signed another poster which everyone gets and then he even took the effort to stand up and give my gf the opportunity for my gf to take a picture of him beside me. After that, he shook my hand and I left. Too bad I did not get the "Russell Lee Handshake". It was really an experience for me and I am damn happy with this encounter.
