A late post about my V-Day

This post will be about my Valentine's Day with my gf this year. I know, I know, it was more that half a month ago but it's still not too late right?

This year, we thought of not over-spending on the day as everything is overly expensive on this day and everywhere is packed with people. Therefore, we decided to spend our 8th Valentine's day at our new home and to cook dinner together.

Therefore, "early" in the morning, we headed to the market to buy the stuffs for the dinner. After that we went to Jusco @ Taman Maluri for more stuffs and especially the seafood as they sell live seafood there. After lunch and shopping, we went straight home.

We started preparing for the dinner at around 6pm. From here on, I'll just let the photos do the talking.

This is the big mud crab which we bought at Jusco. This fella weighs about 7 hundred plus grammes and cost me RM 40 plus.

Before long, everything was set and ready to be cooked. My gf helped with the preparation while I did all the cooking.

The first thing that I cooked was this vegetable soup.

The prawns are up next.

This is margerine prawns as I feel that butter is a bit fattening compared to margerine.

After the prawns are these Razor Clams. Some of us will call this as Bamboo clams.

This is Bamboo clams cooked with Taucu sauce.

The crab is the final dish of the day.

This is Otard/Cognac Steamed Crabs with Egg White. The same crab dish which I cooked back in 2007 when I celebrated my 6th Anniversary with my gf. The only difference now is that I cooked the whole crab instead of half and the crab is bigger.

There you go, 4 dishes cooked for my beloved on Valentine's day. After eating and cleaning up. We proceeded to write our V-day cards and give it to each other. There you go. This is how my gf and me spent our 8th Valentine's this year. To my gf "I LOVE YOU!!"

On another note, I've decided to try out another way to cook crabs on the next Sunday after Valentine's. And since this is a trial, I bought these flower crabs.

The flower crabs which I bought with my gf at the market together with other stuffs for lunch. RM 15 for 3 crabs weighing 600 grammes.

Tadaa!!! It's what we call as Kam Heong Crabs.

A closer look at it. My gf said it taste delicious but the curry flavor is a little bit too much. Maybe I should add less the next time I cook it.
